Taylor Swift U.S fans who traveled to Europe from the U.S. were LESS than impressed with the setup of the arena show, and are super angry at the singer.
Jenny Berger, a social media influencer with nearly 134,000 followers on TikTok, recently shared her frustrations about her experience at Taylor Swift’s shows in Lisbon, Portugal. Swift’s European tour, which began earlier this month, has faced numerous issues, including ticket problems and COVID concerns.
Berger and her friends were particularly upset when people with general admission tickets managed to enter the VIP section. In a video that has since been deleted but re-shared on X (formerly Twitter), Berger expressed her anger.
She explained that they were in the “VIP 1” section, known as the “It’s Been a Long Time Coming VIP package.” This package costs around $845 in the U.S. and €539 ($585) in Portugal. It includes a reserved floor ticket, special edition Taylor Swift prints exclusive to VIPs, priority check-in, a separate entrance, early venue entry, and crowd-free VIP merchandise shopping. Additional perks are a commemorative tote bag, a Swift pin, sticker and postcard set, a souvenir concert ticket, and an LED tour laminate that serves as an interactive wearable at the show.
In the video, Berger showed her section and identified those she believed were not VIP ticket holders. “We paid a lot for our ticket and general admission is pushing us around,” she said, noting that those with general admission tickets paid $300 less but were still able to stand in front of them. “I didn’t expect this, and I’m sorry we paid way too much for this. Why are we not roped off? I just don’t get it.”
Berger’s complaints highlight the ongoing issues faced by fans at Swift’s tour, raising questions about the management and organization of VIP sections.
