Barbara Eden is 91 and still enjoying a successful career over 50 years after ‘I Dream of Jeannie’
The stunningly beautiful Barbara Eden will be 92 this year and we can all agree that she looks like she hasn’t aged a day. Ja Dream star Jeannie is stunning as always and we couldn’t resist sharing her latest photos with you.
Barbara Eden was born Barbara Jean Morehead on August 23, 1931. Her first public appearance was singing in a church choir, which later led to being part of various groups. She studies both singing and acting and has proved very successful in both.
Her natural beauty earned her the title of Miss San Francisco in 1951.
Eden as Genie in a variant of the famous “Genie costume” seen only in the pilot episode.
Her television career began with The Johnny Carson Show in 1955 and continued with a number of series and films. In I Dream of Jeannie, her most notable role, she played a genie released from a bottle. The series aired for five years.
For her recent birthday, Barbara Eden’s official Instagram account has shared a photo of her, which has left fans in awe of how she looks at that age.
It read: “Wishing our favorite blonde, Rider of the Wild Surf, Voyager to the Bottom of the Sea, Harper Valley PTA nemesis, and of course, the Eternal Lady in a Bottle, a very happy birthday today!”
Barbara received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1988 for her contributions to television.
In her memoir Jeannie Out of the Bottle, which was published in 2011, she talks about her childhood, her fame in her 20s, her marriages and the tragedy of losing her son.
This year, the actress turned 91 and says she thinks age is just a number. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, she says: “It’s like any other birthday, I’m just happy to be here. I don’t really think about it. Everyone else does, but I never did. I can’t wait to get back to work.”
Barbara is still working and has no plans to retire anytime soon. “I worked to the point of closing last March,” she told The Hollywood Reporter.
She is happy to be a part of showbiz. “I’m very lucky to have lived through that time,” she told The Hollywood Reporter. “I’m happy that I had my beginnings then, but things change.” What a great time right now, more actors are working than ever before with all the companies like Netflix and Amazon, with all these movies and TV shows they’re producing.
