Jack Nicholson has been seen for the first time in 18 months, leaning against the balcony railing of his infamous Mullholland Drive compound in Beverly Hills.
The 85-year-old appeared disheveled, wearing a loose-fitting pale orange shirt and baggy sweatpants, which comes after reports suggested that the legendary actor has become a recluse.
Rumours have circulated that Nicholson is battling dementia and can no longer remember his lines, but former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly dismissed these claims as “bull.” Nicholson, who is arguably La La Land’s most famous bachelor, has fathered six children by five different women and is known to mainly interact with his son, Ray.
The megastar enjoyed some fresh air and a view overlooking Franklin Canyon Reservoir during his morning outing. Nicholson’s last on-screen appearance came in 2010’s little-known How Do You Know, alongside Owen Wilson and Reese Witherspoon.
Despite his confirmed bachelor status, Nicholson was married for four years before making it in Hollywood and had a famous romance with Angelica Houston, which ended nearly 25 years ago.
Nicholson has been criticised for never acknowledging his paternity of his alleged daughter Tessa Gourin, who was born out of his brief affair with waitress Jeanine Gourin.
Tessa, an aspiring actress, recently published an essay in Newsweek titled “I’m Jack Nicholson’s Daughter – I Wish People Could Call Me a Nepo Baby.” Nicholson believed that his mother was his sibling until 1974, when Time magazine uncovered the truth and told him about its findings.
While Nicholson’s physical health is reportedly in good shape, an unnamed friend told Radar Online in January that “his mind is gone.”
Despite these rumours, Nicholson’s son, Ray, is one of the few people he keeps in contact with, according to reports.
Nicholson’s appearance on his balcony comes after concerns from his friends that he may die alone, in a similar manner to his former next-door neighbour and fellow screen legend Marlon Brando.
