Arnold Schwarzenegger Pays Touching Tribute to Late Best Friend Franco Columbo
Arnold Schwarzenegger, Hollywood legend and former governor of California, paid an emotional homage on social media to his “best friend” Franco Columbo, who recently passed away at the age of 78. Columbo was an Italian actor and bodybuilder who worked alongside Schwarzenegger in many films, including The Terminator and Conan the Barbarian.
Schwarzenegger posted various photos of the two throughout their 54 years of friendship on Instagram, with a touching message to his late friend. “You made my life happier, more colorful, and richer,” he said. “I could live without money or my parents, but not without you.”
The two first met in Munich and quickly became inseparable, founding a bricklaying company together called European Brick Works in 1969. They worked out together in both Italy and the United States and competed against each other in bodybuilding competitions.
Columbo passed away while swimming in the sea in his native Sardinia, Italy. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and Arnold Schwarzenegger during this difficult time.
