Anna Nicole Smith had a colorful and eventful life, but it was also marred by scandal. After giving birth to two children, her son died tragically a few days after his sister’s birth. Smith insisted on a second autopsy to find out the truth about her son’s death. Smith and her ex-husband Billy Wayne Smith are the parents of Daniel, their first child. After his younger sister’s birth, he died at the age of twenty. Dannielynn Birkhead, Smith’s boyfriend at the time, was given custody of Dannielynn after Smith died when Dannielynn was just five months old.
Dannielynn turned sixteen on September 7, 2022, and her father posted a congratulatory message on Instagram. He acknowledged that he was not present for her birth but had been there for her every day since. In 2018, Dannielynn and Birkhead visited the Bahamas, where her mother and brother were buried. Birkhead believed that this trip would help her learn more about her mother and where she was born.
Daniel took a trip to the Bahamas to be with his mother and newborn sister, Dannielynn, not long after Dannielynn’s birth. Unfortunately, he died of an accidental overdose of drugs while in the hospital room he shared with his mother. After the first autopsy, Smith refused to believe her son had drugs in his system, and demanded a second autopsy. She hired Cyril Wecht, a forensic pathologist, to conduct it. The results of this autopsy were not disclosed to the public.
Five months after Daniel’s death, Smith died in a manner similar to that of her son. Dannielynn was named as her mother’s sole heir to the estate.
A court ruled that Dannielynn was entitled to her mother’s fortune as Daniel had passed away before his mother. Birkhead ensured that Dannielynn had a serene upbringing despite the challenges she faced early in life.
